Parker makes London Welsh move

Former Wales centre Sonny Parker has joined London Welsh for next season, the Championship club have announced.

New Zealand-born Parker, 34, made 31 appearances for Wales after making his international debut in 2002 and was part of the squad which won the 2008 Grand Slam and took part in the 2003 and 2007 World Cups.

Parker, who will link back up with his former Ospreys coach Lyn Jones at London Welsh, said: "I know how good a coach Lyn is and what style of rugby he wants to play, and that was one of the major factors behind my decision to join the club. I also get on very well with him."

He added: "I don't commit myself to anything unless I can do it 100%. I want to play games and I want to win games for London Welsh.

"It's also a fresh start for me in London. I want to play some good rugby and hopefully I'll enjoy my time at the club."

The Exiles face Bedford in the first leg of their Championship semi-final on May 4.
