England rounded off a perfect first day at the NZI Sevens in Wellington with a 33-7 win over Wales.
James Rodwell touched down twice, with John Brake and Dan Norton also scoring tries. Ben Gollings added four conversions.
England had earlier beaten the United States and the Cook Islands to set up a quarter-final clash with Argentina on Saturday.
Head coach Ben Ryan said: "It was a very satisfying opening day and we really gelled against Wales.
"Argentina were battered by New Zealand in their final group game and we know they'll bounce back strongly against us, so we'll have to be at our very best."
