Harlequins have announced the signing of Namibia number eight and captain Renaldo Bothma.

The 27-year-old will move to Quins from South African Super Rugby franchise the Bulls in time for next season.

Bothma was a key member of Namibia's 2015 World Cup squad and has won 13 caps.

"Renaldo is one of the most destructive ball-carriers in world rugby, and so I am absolutely delighted to have secured his services on a long-term contract," Quins rugby director John Kingston told the Aviva Premiership club's official website.

"As captain of his country, he also brings strong leadership qualities.

"He chose Harlequins over other options around the world, and his signing is a major statement of where we want to take this great club over the coming years."

Bothma made his Super Rugby debut for the Sharks, and after spending part of last year with Japanese side Toyota Verblitz, he joined the Bulls in 2016.
