Robinson cleared after citing

Nicky Robinson

Gloucester fly-half Nicky Robinson has had his citing for a dangerous tackle dismissed by a joint Rugby Football Union and Welsh Rugby Union disciplinary committee.

Wales cap Robinson was called before the committee over his tackle on London Irish scrum-half Darren Allinson during an LV= Cup game on February 5, but has been cleared to play on.

An RFU statement read: "The citing of Gloucester Rugby's Nicky Robinson for a dangerous tackle on London Irish's Darren Allinson during the LV= Cup match on February 5 was tonight (Tuesday) dismissed and he can continue playing."

Cardiff Blues lock Bryn Griffiths was handed a three-week ban by the panel after being found guilty of stamping on Harlequins scrum-half Karl Dixon in their LV=Cup meeting on February 6.

The former Newport Gwent Dragons and Doncaster man will be free to play again on March 9.
