Rory McIlroy v Brian O'Driscoll: Watch drop goal battle between our sporting greats
When Rory McIlroy met Brian O'Driscoll - it was a drop goal battle with a difference between two of the sporting greats.
The World number one golfer from Holywood stepped out of his comfort zone (temporarily) and surprised his rugby legend challenger Brian O'Driscoll, with his rugby skills - before turning the tables on him.
The light-hearted challenge took place when the pair met at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship where Rory is kick-starting his 2015 season.
The set of rugby posts were erected on the driving range.
O'Driscoll, the highest try scorer in Irish rugby history who retired in 2013, starts off the video taking drop-kicks before McIlroy arrives - with his golf clubs in tow.
McIlroy shouts 'Four' before O'Driscoll challenges Rory to have a go himself telling him, "Do your worst".
But to his amazement McIlroy sends the ball over the posts at his first attempt and receiving praise from the Irish rugby legend.
O'Driscoll said: "One take Ror.
"It's as easy as that. It was nice it kind of snuck in on the left."
But then the Co Down golfing star ups the ante - and starts lining up a shot with golfballs.
He said: "That was good but I want to see if i can do it another way," - as he whips out an Iron and drop-chips a ball to the posts - but missed.
But he tries again - with O'Driscoll giving him some guidance.
He said: "I say two-handed is the way forward, in my massively limited experience."
"That's the Rory McIlroy of old, I'm here to coach all week", he said as Rory send the ball over the posts.
But, moments later O'Driscoll needs to take his own advice as it's his turn.
"This cannot be that hard, surely, the posts, drop kick. "
The rugby star storms the shot, saying: "I'm a power man."
To which Rory quips: "He's obviously been playing a bit of golf in his retirement."
The footage was filmed by HSBC golf.
