Saints urged to see off Sale

Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder has demanded his side prevent Sale from climbing into the Aviva Premiership top four on Saturday.

The play-off rivals meet at Franklin's Gardens in an important fixture that could see them trade places in the table. Saints sit third while Sale are sixth, but only three points separates them as the battle for a top-four finish intensifies.

"Because the table is so close at the moment, every game is massively important," said Mallinder. "We got a losing bonus point at Gloucester last week but it's a home game for us tomorrow and we need to win it. Sale are one of a number of teams just behind us in the table and are looking for a play-off spot, so it's important we win this weekend."

Mallinder has selected Stephen Myler ahead of Ryan Lamb at fly-half, while Wales number eight Andy Powell slots straight into Sale's back row after returning from international duty.
