Schonert set for Warriors switch

Aviva Premiership club Worcester have announced the signing of South African prop Nick Schonert.

The 22-year-old tighthead will move to the Warriors this summer from Bloemfontein-based Super 15 side the Cheetahs.

Schonert was a member of South Africa's junior world championship team in 2011. He moved to the Cheetahs at the start of this season.

" I am delighted that Nick has decided to move to Warriors," Worcester rugby director Dean Ryan told the club's official website.

"He is aware of our long-term focus and is committed to being part of our journey.

"Nick is the sort of player who will add to this club and he has the potential to be an outstanding Premiership player, so we are looking forward to welcoming him to Sixways."
