Armagh book quarter-final spot

Published 19/02/2010

Armagh Royal, joint favourites with Campbell College in the Northern Bank Schools' Medallion Shield, gained a 15-0 fourth round victory over Coleraine Inst yesterday.

Armagh always appeared to be in control and ran in two good tries.

After pressure inside the visitors’ ‘22' out-half Alastair Wright threw out a long pass to No 8 Darryl Morton who touched down on the blind side.

Later full-back John McDonagh took the short side around the 10 metre line and sprinted through for the second. Wright had one conversion and a penalty.

Armagh have a home tie against Methodist College in the quarter-finals on Saturday week.
