Bangor Grammar’s second half dominance saw them get the better of Dalriada and now set up a quarter-final clash with Wallace High.
The Bangor pack had the better of the exchanges with No 8 Max Montgomery working particularly hard for the cause.
Craig Burton and Ryan Wilson were strong in the second row while flanker Jonny Gordon showed up well in defence. Props Ross Kennedy and James Leary scrummaged well and hooker Andy Shaw also put in a lot of work.
Despite being away from home Bangor looked confident after their previous 6-0 win over Belfast High and they were helped by having an accurate kicker in Daniel Kennedy who contributed their two penalties.
Dalriada failed to show the form that gave them earlier wins over Portora and Regent and they only managed a solitary try from Jonny Laughlin.
Their hooker Andy Marks was yellow carded and Bangor took full advantage for Wilson to crash over for what proved to be the winning score.
