Schools’ Cup: Portadown v Dalriada

Published 21/01/2011

Portadown showed determination when, having conceded an early try, they fought back to convincingly beat Wellington College 34-8 and earn a third round tie with Dalriada (11 am).

Portadown's strength lies with their fleet footed three-quarters and winning enough possession against the useful Ballymoney eight will be their problem.

Dalriada have had a mixed season with some successes but have had major set-backs against Ballymena Academy and Friends'. Much will depend on the performance of their backs.

Home advantage will obviously help Portadown but their task may be a little too difficult.
