Schools hoping to get Danske Bank Medallion Shield bid off to a flier

By Ronnie Ingram

The adverse weather and Christmas holidays have disrupted the Danske Bank Medallion Shield competition but it is hoped that the remaining six first-round ties will be completed this afternoon and tomorrow.

Limavady Grammar and Portadown College have already reached the second round stage with respective wins over Carrickfergus Grammar and Foyle College.

The seeded teams will not enter the competition until the next round. This afternoon's ties are: Dromore High v Grosvenor Grammar (2pm); Lurgan College v Larne Grammar (2.15pm); Banbridge Academy v Antrim Grammar (2.30pm); Regent House v Wellington College (2.30pm); and Cambridge House v Friends School (2.45 pm).

Tomorrow's game is Belfast High against Omagh Academy (2pm).
