Scotland trio return to Edinburgh side for Connacht clash

Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has been boosted by the return of three Scotland internationals as he plots victory over Connacht at Murrayfield on Friday.

Matt Scott, who missed the Dark Blues' last two RBS 6 Nations games through injury, joins Sam Hidalgo-Clyne and Rory Sutherland in returning to the Gunners' starting XV after duty with Vern Cotter's national side.

Centre Chris Dean also gains promotion from the bench to start in the midfield alongside Scott, with the back-three combination of Tom Brown, Damien Hoyland and Blair Kinghorn retained.

Phil Burleigh, who scored the opening try in last week's 24-23 defeat of Scarlets, continues at stand-off and partners incoming scrum-half Hidalgo-Clyne. In the pack, prop Sutherland takes over from Allan Dell in the front row as he lines up with hooker Neil Cochrane and tighthead John Andress, while Anton Bresler and Ben Toolis continue at lock.

Jamie Ritchie and Hamish Watson start at blindside and openside flanker, with Cornell Du Preez wearing the number eight shirt.

Solomons said: "Connacht are at the top of the Guinness PRO12 table and we are looking forward to the challenge that taking on the league leaders presents."
