Rory Best: we'll meet challenge head on

By Jonathan Bradley

Captain Rory Best has called on the "real Ireland" to deliver when Joe Schmidt's men bid to kick-start their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Dublin today (1.30pm) following two defeats and a draw in their opening three games.

Ulster hooker Best is determined to lead from the front as he goes into his 50th game in the tournament still looking for his first win as skipper of this series.

Best insisted: "I'm sure the boys will stand up. At times as players we haven't delivered on promises that we make to each other during the week. Call it the real Ireland but they are the standards we expect to live by and play by."
