Stevens agrees Sharks switch
Former England prop Matt Stevens has agreed a two-year deal with the Durban-based Sharks in South Africa.
Stevens, who was born in Durban but qualified to represent England through his parents, will join the Sharks in August.
The Sharks announced on their official website that 31-year-old Saracens forward Stevens will link up with them ahead of this year's Absa Currie Cup competition.
Stevens won 39 England caps and toured with the British and Irish Lions to New Zealand in 2005 and Australia last year.
Sharks chief executive and ex-Saracens hooker John Smit said: "Matt's versatility on both sides of the scrum, and his experience, makes him a great acquisition to our squad.
"We look forward to welcoming him to The Sharks family."
And Sharks rugby director Jake White added: " Matt has a burning desire to be a part of our Currie Cup campaign and is a great signing for us.
"With our front row being unavailable during the latter part of the year due to Springbok commitments, Matt's experience and knowledge will prove invaluable. and the youngsters in our squad can take confidence from having a senior guy in the front row."
