Stringer heading to Saracens

Munster have announced their Ireland international scrum-half Peter Stringer is to join Aviva Premiership champions Saracens on a short-term contract.

Saracens scrum-halves Richard Wigglesworth and Neil de Kock are currently sidelined by injuries, and the club approached Munster with the proposal of a three-month loan deal for Stringer. It is anticipated the arrangement will begin with immediate effect once all paperwork has been completed.

"I believe I still have a lot to offer and I want to continue to play at the highest level," Stringer said. "In the situation I currently find myself, that is outside the Munster matchday squad, I think this temporary switch to Saracens will serve my ambition best."

He added: "This offers me a new challenge, and I am grateful to Munster management for their co-operation."
