Student handed Sevens call

Oxford University student Tom Mitchell has been called into the England Sevens squad for next month's HSBC World Series tournaments in Wellington and Las Vegas.

Mitchell was brought into the England training camp after scoring the final try in Oxford's 28-10 win against Cambridge in the 2011 Varsity Match.

England are fourth in the world series table after three tournaments, just four points behind joint leaders New Zealand and South Africa.

Coach Ben Ryan has also recalled fit-again half-back John Brake, with Nick Royle and Simon Hunt dropping out of a 12-man squad that features nine centrally contracted players.

England Sevens: G Barden (captain), J Brake, C Cracknell, I Damudamu (British Army), C Lewis-Pratt, T Mitchell (Oxford University), D Norton, T Powell, J Rodwell, M Turner, R Vickerman, M Watson (Saracens).
