Wales forward Taulupe Faletau is set to continue his recovery from injury by playing for Bath against Bristol on Friday.

Faletau has been temporarily released from the Wales squad and is in line to represent his club for the first time since injuring his knee against Northampton in September.

If the number eight comes through the Aviva Premiership match unscathed, he could be selected for Wales' final autumn international against South Africa the following weekend.

Faletau will join up with the Welsh squad again on Monday.

Wales head coach Rob Howley said: "Taulupe has progressed excellently with his recovery and he has been released back to Bath this week to prepare for their game against Bristol on Friday night.

"We have a good working relationship with Bath and our medical team, led by Prav (Mathema), have been working closely and in unison with the team at Bath and it is pleasing that Taulupe is in line to make his return for them this week and will link back up with us on Monday."
