Terry McMaster's U20s could claim title in Munster

By Ronnie Ingram

Ulster Under-20s can secure the Inter-Provincial title if they defeat Munster in Cork this evening (7.30pm).

They are quietly confident of success and make one change from the team that accounted for Leinster 15-10 last Saturday.

In-form Jack Milligan will start at out-half for Ulster Academy player Sean O'Hagan while John Bingham comes in as a replacement.

Manager Terry McMaster still has a couple of players that require late fitness tests so that's the reason for the travelling party being increased to 25 for the long trek south.

"We know what we have to do and that is a great position to be in as we are not relying on anyone else," he said.

"We don't need a bonus point but, at the same time, we should not be complacent as Munster will be difficult on their own territory.

"I know they have lost both their opening games but there are a couple of areas where we require improvement after last week.

"On reviewing the video we need to keep more retention and stop chasing after lost causes. In other words we need more control and be a bit smarter."

Ulster have only lost once in five outings and that was narrowly at London Irish when they went down 27-24 but with their formidable and well trained squad they will be expected to regain the title this evening.

Ulster Under-20s: M Lagan (capt), Z McCall, A Marica, T Donnan, N Simpson, C Irvine, R Todd, L Dow, C Young, J Milligan, J Stockdale, C McKee, S Arnold, A Liddell, J Owens. Replacements: A McGrath, D Morton, D Fitzpatrick, J Davidson, C Montgomery, J Fullerton, J Bingham, M Cartmill, A Thompson, R Campbell.
