Toulon capture Castrogiovanni

European champions Toulon have confirmed the signing of Leicester prop Martin Castrogiovanni.

The Italy forward, 31, has been a firm fan favourite at Welford Road since joining the Tigers from Calvisano in 2006.

He made 146 appearances for Leicester, securing four Aviva Premiership titles and two LV= Cup successes during his stint, but had made clear his intention to move on prior to the conclusion of the season.

Castrogiovanni is one of a number of high-profile signings by Toulon, with South Africa wing Bryan Habana, Australia's Drew Mitchell and ex-Bath scrum-half Michael Claassens among the list of new recruits posted on their official website.
