Treharne set for Sevens debut

Luke Treharne will make his international Sevens debut for Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after being named in head coach Gareth Williams' 12-man squad.

The Exeter University student will be joined by veterans Gareth Davies, Jevon Groves and Will Harries, who will all mark their respective returns to the shorter form of the game.

Williams said: "Luke is someone we have (been) monitoring for some time but with his medical studies it has been difficult to see a lot of him.

"He's played a lot of Sevens though and he has figured prominently in training. With his ability to play both nine and 10 he offers us some versatility."
