Ulster's title dream still alive

Ulster's hopes of winning the under-20 Inter-Provincial title were kept alive with a convincing 17-9 win over Munster at Deramore Park.

Ulster squandered a 17-9 advantage against Connaught last week before losing by three points but this was a much better performance as, once they went ahead in the second half, they managed to keep control.

The home team lost the services of out-half Stuart Olding with concussion in the first half but took the lead after 29 minutes when Chris Farrell made the line. Three minutes later JJ Hanrahan kicked a penalty for the visitors.

Four minutes into the second period Hanrahan added a second before being successful with a massive effort two minutes later to put Munster further in front.

Ulster struck back when scrum-half Conor Spence touched down under the posts for Peter Nelson to convert. After 25 minutes more pressure around the visitors’ line resulted in Kyle McCall scoring the third. Now Ulster travel to Leinster for the final game.
