Wales international hooker Richard Hibbard has followed England number eight Ben Morgan in agreeing a new contract with Aviva Premiership club Gloucester.

The west country club announced 32-year-old Hibbard's deal on Tuesday.

Of his 56 Gloucester appearances, 52 have been starts, while he has won 38 Wales caps and featured in all three Tests during the 2013 British and Irish Lions' Australia tour.

Morgan, meanwhile, signed a new Gloucester contract last week.

"Richard is another key signing for us," Gloucester rugby director David Humphreys told the club's official website.

"We knew we were bringing in an international-calibre hooker when he signed, and he's been a very big part of our forward effort ever since he arrived.

"He brings a wealth of experience and a winning attitude to the side, as well as a massive physical presence."

Hibbard, who joined Gloucester from the Ospreys in 2014, added: " I feel I've improved my game since I arrived.

"The Aviva Premiership is a tough league, there are no easy games, and I think that has actually benefited me as a player.

"I love playing at Kingsholm. The club and the supporters have been terrific to me."
