Waratahs keep hopes alive

The Waratahs head into the international break with their faint Super Rugby finals hopes still flickering following a 28-13 victory in the derby clash with Western Force.

Ollie Atkins, Cam Crawford and Tom Kingston all found the line for the New South Wales side who had won each of their previous five visits to Perth and rarely looked like spoiling that impressive record after racing out to an early lead.

And while it will still require a bonus-point win over the Queensland Reds and an unlikely combination of favourable results elsewhere in order for the Waratahs to book the final wild-card berth, coach Michael Cheika would have been pleased by the way his charges reacted to last week's heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Crusaders.
