Welsh to stay at Kassam Stadium

London Welsh will carry on playing at the Kassam Stadium

London Welsh have confirmed they will continue to play their home games at the Kassam Stadium following their relegation from the Aviva Premiership.

Welsh adopted the Oxford ground as their home in order to meet Premiership entry requirements, but the club were keen to continue to stage Championship games there - as opposed to returning to their traditional Old Deer Park home - having made strong links in the area.

Chairman Bleddyn Phillips said: "We are delighted that we will be playing our home games in the Championship at the Kassam Stadium, which proved such a very good base for our team and supporters last season.

"We have learned much from our first season playing in the Oxford area and we very much want to continue that relationship and extend and deepen the ties we have already established here."
