Worcester flanker Alafoti Faosiliva to appeal sending off against Gloucester
Worcester flanker Alafoti Faosiliva is to appeal against his sending off for striking Gloucester lock Mariano Galarza in Friday's 23-23 Aviva Premiership draw.
Faosiliva was dismissed with 28 minutes to go in the M5 derby at Sixways after the Samoa international was adjudged to have struck the former Worcester player with the arm and/or elbow, contrary to law 10.4(a).
Referee Luke Pearce referred the incident to his TMO before showing Faosiliva the red card.
The 30-year-old will appear before an RFU disciplinary panel in Coventry on Wednesday evening.
Faosiliva was released by Bath in May after pleading guilty to an assault charge. He was given a suspended prison sentence last week for knocking a 21-year-old university student unconscious in a serious unprovoked attack in Bath city centre on February 6.
