Zebre see off Edinburgh challenge

Second-half tries from Giulio Bisegni and Michele Visentin earned Guinness PRO12 strugglers Zebre an 18-10 win over Edinburgh.

The Scottish side were without the injured Grant Gilchrist, Hamish Watson and Cornell du Preez and found the absences too much to overcome in Italy as they slipped to defeat at the Stadio XXV Aprile.

Kelly Haimon's 10th-minute penalty gave the hosts the lead - it struck the frame of the goal before dropping the right side of the posts from a Zebre point of view.

After Tom Heathcote had failed with a penalty, Edinburgh were on the board just two minutes before the turnaround when Roddy Grant crossed - Heathcote converting for a 7-3 interval advantage.

Heathcote's first penalty extended the advantage to 10-3 but Zebre responded with a three-pointer of their own from Haimon, then Bisegni scored under the posts with Haimona converting.

Zebre's only previous win against Scottish opposition was in this fixture last season and a repeat was ensured when replacement centre Visentin bundled over in the corner.

It was only Zebre's second win of the season, ending a four-game losing streak.
