Whether a seasoned runner or a enthusiastic amateur, young and old have taken part in the Coastal Challenge - held at Seapark in Holywood, Co Down on Friday.

Northern Ireland's largest female-only running event will be raising heart rates as well as thousands of pounds for charity, with the race kicking off at 7pm.

Among the keen sprinters and weekend joggers, some of Northern Ireland's top athletes were also out on the course.

That included the first Northern Ireland woman to finish this year's Belfast Marathon, a former international hockey player and a member of this year's Irish women's rugby Grand Slam team.
