Run Forest Run: Antrim Castle Gardens 10k full results and photos

Antrim Castle Gardens was the seventh race in the Belfast Telegraph Run Forest Run Series organised by BORN2RUN Events.

The race began in the castle's grounds then headed out to the Randalstown Road and then on to Shane's Castle grounds.

The route took competitors through the ruins of Shane's Castle where runners enjoyed fantastic views of Lough Neagh before returning to the immaculately kept gardens and wood at Antrim Castle Gardens.

Race Start Times

Start Venue: Antrim Castle Gardens, Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4LH.

10K Race Starts: 11.00am

Parking

There is very limited car parking in the grounds of Antrim Castle Gardens so please use public car parks located at Antrim Marina (Lough Road) and walk along the tow path and over bridge to Antrim Castle Gardens. There are also car parks in Antrim Town Centre a short walk from the Castle at: Dublin Road, Castle Street, Castle Way and Railway Street.

Event Registration

Registration packs can be posted prior to the day for an additional fee of £3 or collected on the day and Registration will be signposted from Clotworthy House (building in the centre of the Gardens). Refreshments will also be served in the Registration area after the race.

10K Race: Saturday 6th February 2016, 9.00am – 10.45am

Entry Fees

Online (before 11pm on Wednesday 3rd February 2016) and for option of posting out race pack (before 11pm Wednesday 27th January 2016)

10K RACE: £19 (plus £3 if postage option chosen)

Pets

Strictly no pets allowed to run RUN FOREST RUN race with owners!

Water Stations

As this is a Winter race there will be no water station so please carry water with you if required.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are available in the main courtyard behind Clotworthy House and at the Lough Shore Car Park.

Post Race Refreshments

Complimentary refreshments will be served in the building where Registration packs are collected, at approximately 12.15pm.

Prizegiving – approximately 12.30pm

Footwear

Running shoes are suitable for all the terrain on the 10K route

Close to the Registration Building, please check when collecting your race pack.

6. Will I receive any information in the post prior to race day?

Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from the Active Network site after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than Wednesday 3rd February 2016. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race. A “final race day info” email will be sent to all runners on Thursday 4th February 2016.

7. Will I have to sign a disclaimer?

Yes, by entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration.
