Run Forest Run: Tollymore 10k

Tollymore 10K is the fourth race in this year’s Belfast Telegraph Run Forest Run Series organised by Born2Run Events.

Tollymore 10K is the 4th race in the Belfast Telegraph Run Forest Run Series organised by BORN2RUN Events and a must do to get your Festive bling in the lead up to Christmas!  The race route takes in panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains and follows the forest path alongside the Shimna River in a gradual ascent past the Hermitage and through the beautiful forest where scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed. And as it’s Christmas you never know who you might meet in the woods on your return! Join us and enter online.

Race Start Times

Venue: Tollymore Forest Park, Bryansford Road, Newcastle, Co. Down (see map under “Location” tab).

10K Race Starts: 11.00am

Parking

Free parking for all runners, please car share where possible. Parking for runners will be in the upper car park so please follow Marshal directions.

Event Registration

Registration packs can be posted prior to the day for an additional fee of £3 or collected on the day at the Wooden Pavillion (old cafe building) which is accessed via the Wooden Bridge leading from the Upper Car Park. Refreshments will also be served in the Registration area after the race.

10K Race: Saturday 19th December 2015, 9.00am – 10.45am

Online (before 11pm on Wednesday 16th December 2015) and for option of posting out race pack (before 11pm Wednesday 9th December 2015):

10K RACE: £19 (plus £3 if postage option chosen)

Pets

Strictly no pets allowed to run the RUN FOREST RUN race with owners!

Water Stations

As this is a Winter race there will be no water station so please carry water with you if required.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are available in the main car park toilet block and also in the stone educational building adjacent to the upper car park.

Post Race Refreshments

Complimentary refreshments will be served in the building where Registration packs are collected, at approximately 12.15am.

Footwear

The course is a mixture of tarmac and forest paths. Care should be taken on the forest paths as surfaces uneven. Running shoes/trail shoes (personal choice and dependent on weather conditions) are suitable for all the terrain on the 10K route.

1. What footwear is best for the race?

2. Where do I park?

There is a car park in the grounds of Tollymore Forest Park and you will be directed to the Upper Car Park by a Marshal. Parking is free to entrants on the day, however we would encourage car sharing where possible.

3. What does my entry fee include?

  • A RUN FOREST RUN Medal for all finishers
  • Individual chip timing
  • Race Number
  • Complimentary light refreshments at finish of race.

4. Where is the event registration area?

In the Wooden Pavillion building situated between the lower and upper car park. The building can be accessed via the wooden bridge leading from the upper car park and will be clearly signposted on race day.

5. Where does the Race start and finish?

In the car park close to the Registration building.

6. Will I receive any information in the post prior to race day?

Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from the Active Network site after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than Wednesday 16th December 2015. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race. A “final race day info” email will be sent to all runners on Thursday 17th December 2015.

7. Will I have to sign a disclaimer?

Yes, by entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration.
