Mark Allen's dream of winning the Coral Northern Ireland Open is still alive after a tense showdown against Gary Wilson which went past midnight last night.

The Antrim man celebrated a 4-3 victory at the Titanic Exhibition Centre and will now face Anthony Hamilton in the quarter-finals.

There was a big name exit as Ronnie O'Sullivan was rocked by Kyren Wilson who dug deep to earn a 4-3 last-16 win over the five-time world champion.

"You are the underdog against Ronnie and you are expected to lose by everybody so I was on a win-win really," said a delighted Wilson.
