Wimbledon's Centre Court was evacuated after the close of play last night.

An announcement over the public address system shortly after 9pm ordered everyone out.

It interrupted a Serena Williams Press conference in the Millennium Building media centre beside Centre Court. It was allowed to continue, however.

As alarms rang out, fire engines rapidly arrived at the All England Club. A tweet from London Fire Brigade later described it as a small fire which had been dealt with and was under control.

A further update 25 minutes later said: "Game set and match. The fire at #Wimbledon2015 tennis club is now under control."

An electrical fault is suspected.
