Federer's amazing eight

Veteran Roger Federer admitted he had amazed himself after making yet more tennis history with an eighth Wimbledon title yesterday, his second Grand Slam win this year and five years after his last All England club win.

Federer, 36 next month, defeated a tearful Marin Cilic 6-3 6-1 6-4 to become the first man to lift the trophy eight times while Jamie Murray, brother of Andy, and Martina Hingis lifted the Mixed Doubles title.
