Tough Pool for Great Britain's women at Rio 2016

The Great Britain women's hockey team has been drawn in a competitive Pool B at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

They will face Argentina, ranked second in the world, Australia (3rd), Japan, India and the United States, whose head coach is former Team GB assistant Craig Parnham. Team GB are currently ranked seventh in the world.

The men's team, who are fourth in the rankings, have been drawn in Pool A against world number one and reigning world and Hockey World League champions Australia, tournament hosts Brazil and Belgium, New Zealand and Spain.

Ireland have also qualified for the men's competition and are in Pool B against the Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, India and Canada.

The full match schedule for pool fixtures and the competition's play-off stages will be confirmed in February.
