Bok to the future
The cobwebs have been dusted off and the sweat of pre-season training has been washed away. After three warm-up matches — two of which they lost — Ulster stand poised for another campaign with their crammed 2010/11 schedule getting under way next Friday night when they host defending champions, Ospreys, in their opening Magners League fixture.
That’s a very tough kick-off to what promises to be a testing nine months during which Ulster’s resources will be stretched fully as they attempt to cope with four additional Magners League fixtures arising from the inclusion of Italian pair Aironi Rugby and Benetton Treviso, coupled with the demands/restrictions imposed by Irish coach Declan Kidney and the IRFU in the countdown to the autumn 2011 World Cup.
