Tyrone made it safely through to an All Ireland quarter-final meeting with Dublin after a power-packed second-half display saw them get the better of Roscommon at Croke Park yesterday afternoon.
Sean Cavanagh was the Red Hands’ star man, hitting 2-3 in a superb display.
Tyrone led 1-9 to 1-8 at the end of a superb opening 35 minutes that saw both sides hit a number of quality scores.
The direct ball into Senan Kilbride and Donie Shine was causing the Red Hands’ defence problems and the Connacht runners-up established a four-point lead but Tyrone fought back to lead by the minimum margin.
Sean Cavanagh opened the scoring with a fine point but by the seventh minute Roscommon had their noses in front thanks to efforts from Cathal Cregg and Shine.
