Hazel Stewart’s children no longer have a relationship with the brothers and sisters of their murdered father.
Lisa McConnell, 29, and Andrew Buchanan, 28, stopped seeing their aunts and uncles after their mother was convicted of killing their policeman dad Trevor Buchanan.
The rift is revealed in a Channel 4 documentary about Hazel to be shown on Friday.
“It would be very hard, if they didn’t have the same viewpoint as us, to maintain any relationship,” Lisa tells the programme makers.
“It’s sad, but our loyalty lies with our mum and that’s where it will stay.”
