An ex-UVF boss has been named in court as a supergrass who is being used by police to bring down the terror gang.
Details of what leading north Belfast loyalist turned informer Gary Haggarty has told detectives were heard for the first time on Friday.
The 39-year-old, who is currently on remand, charged with the 1997 UVF murder of John Harbinson, appeared in Belfast Magistrates' Court seeking bail.
His application was refused – but not before the full extent of his confessions to police emerged.
