A runaway psychologist who faked his own death stole the identity of a dead child from Belfast to get a new passport.
Disgraced shrink Stephen Kellaway fled Britain two years ago to avoid going to jail for swindling £50,000 in benefits.
In a plot reminiscent of Frederick Forsyth’s thriller Day of the Jackal, it has emerged how Kellaway first faked his death and then travelled the world on an Irish passport after obtaining the birth certificate of a dead boy from Belfast.
A journalist who tracked 53-year-old Kellaway down in Bangkok last week told Sunday Life Kellaway had gone through the Belfast records office until he found a birth certificate of a dead child who, if he had lived, would have been the same age as him.
