Northern Ireland golf hero Darren Clarke has set himself a new career goal — proving he is no one hit wonder!
Clarke realised a lifetime’s ambition when he won The Open at Royal St George’s last Sunday after 21 years of trying.
But the 42-year-old from Dungannon isn’t prepared to sit back and has set himself a new immediate challenge of doubling his Major tally.
“I achieved my ultimate goal with my Open win so I’ve had to reassess that,” says Clarke (inset).
“I’m only 42 — there’s still a lot of good golf left in me yet.
“I plan on being in contention for Majors again.”
Clarke will be back in action at this week’s Irish Open in Killarney.
