Dozen't get any better for Glens
Sunday, 28 August 2011
Glentoran ended a 12-season hoodoo yesterday by finally winning a League game at Windsor Park.
Ciaran Martyn's first-half goal was enough to condemn Linfield to their first defeat of this Carling Premiership campaign and secure the Glens' first Big Two away day success since March 2000.
Elsewhere, Cliftonville came from behind to defeat Lisburn Distillery 2-1 at New Grosvenor and, on Friday night, Ballymena United and Portadown enjoyed wins over Donegal Celtic and Glenavon respectively, Dungannon Swifts defeated Carrick Rangers and the points were shared between Crusaders and Coleraine in a 1-1 draw at Seaview.
