Hats off to McGuinness
Sunday, 28 August 2011
When county boards are seeking nominations for a manager’s job which might be vacant, they generally outline the criteria as they see it for the post.
Naturally, experience, commitment, an ability to communicate effectively and marked organisational skills are invariably required.
But there is one other element which I feel is essential for any county boss — a thick skin.
In this connection, I imagine that Donegal boss Jim McGuinness must have the hide of a rhinoceros.
It is doubtful if any team has come in for as much criticism this year as the outfit which he single-handedly has reinvigorated after their years in the doldrums.
