Linfield peel away from the pack

Champions Linfield are the only side to retain a 100% record in the new Carling Premiership season thanks to a 4-1 defeat of Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

Glentoran were shocked at home by Donegal Celtic, going down 2-1 to the west Belfast side, while Crusaders made it back-to-back wins thanks to a 3-0 triumph at Ballymena United.

Portadown beat Cliftonville 2-0 in a Solitude tie that saw both sides reduced to 10 men, Carrick Rangers claimed their first ever Premiership win by overcoming Glenavon and, in a controversial affair at The Showgrounds, Lisburn Distillery were 3-2 victors over Coleraine.
