Much more Leck it!

Portadown boss Ronnie McFall hailed his 10-man team after Richard Lecky's late goal earned all three points against Glentoran at The Oval yesterday.

Kevin Braniff's first-half dismissal looked to have set the scene perfectly for the Glens to leapfrog Linfield - victims of a shock defeat to Donegal Celtic in Friday - at the top of the Carling Premiership but Lecky's 81st minute strike ensured revenge for the Ports, who have twice lost out to late goals against Glentoran already this season.

That, in turn, meant Cliftonville could close the gap on both sides above them with victory at Coleraine but they, too, fell to defeat - the Bannsiders storming into a three-goal lead before the Reds hit back with two strikes of their own.

Crusaders were the only top-four side to add to their points tally with a 2-2 draw at home to Dungannon Swifts, while Glenavon strengthened their hopes of a top-six finish with a 3-1 defeat of Ballymena United.
