Murderer to appeal conviction
Sunday, 20 March 2011
Hazel Stewart is poised to launch an appeal this week over her double murder conviction.
Stewart is still protesting her innocence, saying she did not kill her husband Trevor and her lover Colin Howell’s wife Lesley – and that she was under the dentist’s spell.
Stewart’s solicitor Stephen Hastings, who comforted Stewart’s daughter Lisa when the jury reached their verdict two-and-a-half weeks ago, said: “We are taking client’s instructions and we are considering an appeal.
“There is a certain time limit before an appeal can be lodged and that is the middle of this coming week.”
