I’m A Celebrity finalist Ferne McCann has revealed her envious bikini body secrets.

The Only Way Is Essex star, who launched the Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show at Titanic Belfast on Friday, asked Sunday Life: “How boring would life be without a treat every now and again?”

Ferne said: “I’m by no means perfect, but then again, I’m not even sure who ever said being a size eight was perfect. I hate that.

“Everyone’s different and I’ll always have my curves.

“But, for me, it’s all about making healthy choices, not starving yourself or denying yourself every day.

“I try to make healthy choices but it’s not like I cut out carbs or alcohol or Chinese takeaways completely because they are things that I absolutely love.

“You have to treat yourself or else I think you’d be miserable.”

The 25-year-old added: “The way I do it, it doesn’t really feel like a diet.

“I rarely eat bread, although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some with my dinner sometimes.

BOXING

“I never eat cow’s or goat’s milk, only almond milk, and I don’t have too much sugar in my diet either.

“I do a lot of boxing and cardio-based weight training with my personal trainer too.

“As long as you’re exercising and making good choices for the majority of the time then why not give yourself some cake if you want it?”

Despite her refreshing outlook on body image, Ferne admits that there is a lot of pressure put on men and women to look a certain way.

“I don’t really mind being on TV with no makeup on because at the end of the day, we’re all human,” said the former hairdresser.

“But people do pick up your flaws and being in a bikini or whatever can be quite scary.

“Thankfully, I only knew I was going into the jungle about two or three weeks before it happened so I just threw myself into it.

“What you saw on I’m A Celebrity was just me.”

Beaten only by fellow reality star Vicky Pattison and Union J singer George Shelley, Ferne surprised herself with how well she coped with jungle life.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get over eating a spider, though,” she said.

“Apart from things like the gym, I’ve never really pushed myself to the absolute limit before, so I really surprised myself.

“I’ve never had that sense of completion and achievement before but for some reason, being in the jungle brought that out of me and I was so determined with everything.

“Before I went in there, I told myself that I wasn’t going to quit and I wanted to stay true to my word. Plus, everyone can see you on TV so you don’t want to be a big baby!”

But Ferne strongly denies that there is a romantic relationship with 22-year-old George.

“I know that there’s been a lot of talk about me and George but we really are just good friends,” she said.

“I saw him the other day and Vicky stayed at mine last Saturday night, so I really have made friends for life. We all get along great.

“I’ve heard all the Ex On The Beach romance rumours too, that I’m seeing someone from it, but I am very much single at the moment.

“There are a few boys I speak to but I’m 100 per cent on the market.

“I’ve never dated a boy from Belfast but I wouldn’t rule it out. I absolutely love the accent and it would be a good excuse to come back.

“I’m not so sure he’d be able to put up with my voice, though!”
