Spike's 30th triumph
Glenn Ferguson celebrated his 30th trophy triumph yesterday with a kiss — after Lisburn Distillery shocked favourites Portadown 2-1 to win the Co-Operative Insurance Cup Final.
Fergie helped spark aremarkable comeback by teeing up the equaliser for Scott Davidson after Matthew Tipton fired Ports ahead on the stroke of half-time at Mourneview Park.
Spike took no credit for David Cushley’s last-gasp match-winner but was voted man of the match just the same.
The legendary Fergie, 41, said: “This is one of my greatest moments. Now I can bow out at the end of the season on a high, just as I always wanted.”
