As the Northern Ireland ‘great striker search’ rumbles on, greenhorn gunslinger Will Grigg is making a ‘Bee’ line to answer manager Michael O’Neill’s problems.

Having rejected interest from Championship sides to sign for ambitious League One outfit Brentford, an exciting opportunity is unfolding for the 22-year-old.

Solihull-born Grigg netted 20 goals for Walsall last term, earning the switch to Griffin Park, a move which will compensate a little for the Bees blowing a Championship place after a painful play-off final defeat to Yeovil in May.

Northern Ireland have struggled to score during the current miserable World Cup qualifying campaign, but now Grigg insists he can graduate from Under-21 level to full international marksman.
