Ulster thief in raid link
A top Ulster criminal who was extradited to Belgium is suspected of masterminding a spate of border ATM thefts.
Cyril ‘Dublin Jimmy' McGuinness, 46, was flown by military aircraft to Brussels last weekend to start a seven-year sentence for the theft of heavy machinery.
Close pals Damian McPhillips, 45, and Robert Peachey, 67, are also serving four year jail terms in Belgium for their roles in the same scam.
Dublin Jimmy had been pursued by cops on the continent for five years.
Now that the Co Fermanagh man is locked up in a foreign jail both the PSNI and Garda are hopeful of seeing a dramatic drop in ATM thefts.
