'Why did we be so stupid?'

A man injured in a horror car smash that claimed the lives of two of his friends has said: “Why did we be so stupid?”

West Belfast man Fra Lavery, 25, was one of six passengers in an stolen Subaru Impereza sports car that was involved in a high-speed crash near Lisburn during the early hours of Monday morning.

Close pals Conor Rules, 23, and Patrick McAllister, 24, died from their injuries.

McAllister was buried from his home in the Twinbrook estate yesterday, 24-hours after Rules' funeral in the Poleglass area.Three other men — Mark Toner, Mark Smith and convicted joyrider Kevin Valliday — are still being treated in hospital.
