The festival will take place within Belfast’s Harbour over five main sites: Clarendon Dock, Pollock Dock, Queens Quay and Albert Quay with entertainment also being provided at Custom House Square. Due to the nature of the event and the site it is anticipated that visitors will be continually moving along the Quayside allowing all spectators unobstructed views of the Tall Ships.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening a colourful 10 minute fireworks display will bring the day’s activities to a close.
Street Theatre performances from Barren Carousel each evening in Barrow Square, prepare to be amazed at their circus antics with sky high performances. Other acts to look out for over the four days will be Ladies of the Waves and That Man to name a few.
Queens Quay will have something for the whole family! Featuring a continental market, funfair rides for younger family members, displays by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue and BBC’s Headroom. Street entertainers will be performing throughout the site.
Clarendon Dock will feature a dedicated family activity zone with fun, exciting activities including a climbing wall and dive tank. This site also boasts arts and crafts and displays for the whole family with live music. A continental market will also be located here.
The Albert Quay site will host a larger funfair for those more daring, a continental market with walkabout entertainers adding carnival atmosphere to the site as well as The UK Strongest Man Competition, for further information click here.
Pollock Dock will host operational naval vessels as well as other interactive demonstrations throughout the event.
Custom House Square will feature live music running late into evening. During the day there will be family entertainment with involvement from a variety of local community groups, while in the evening the stage will be set for a variety of musicians from across the world.
